Chess is more than a game.

It is a room, a language, a challenge, and sometimes a place where girls and women have had to work twice as hard to be seen. Queen’s Story is a book of honest essays about those experiences—from the obstacles to the breakthroughs.

Created through an international essay competition, this collection gives each writer space to speak in her own voice.
